Updates starting in December 2016

Since I have started out doing this photography thing, I have been trying to find something that works.  My goals are simple:

  • Have Fun – after all if you don’t love what you do, your customers will notice.  It has been fun photographing families, seniors, pets and nature
  • Be Affordable / Be Profitable – While charging $400 a session and including all the edited images and a print release sounds excessive, shooting for a $40 session fee an hoping for people to purchase prints is not providing a profit; which is necessary.
  • Expand my education – I am going to be taking more education opportunities to increase my knowledge and style for my photography

I am going to be changing my pricing to start including more options rather than the AlaCarte pricing structure that I have been doing.

Get Your Kicks on Route 66 – Illinois Edition

Mom and I took a trip Memorial day weekend 2015 to explore south of Chicago to about an hour outside of St. Louis Continue reading “Get Your Kicks on Route 66 – Illinois Edition”

Here are a few photos of that week. Continue reading “Trips to “God’s Country” in Pennsylvania”

Editing photos vs the original shot

So, I see many people who take photos offering their original files.  WHY!!!???

There is no reason you should just hand anybody or post your unedited photos straight from the SD card.  Properly editing your photos can take that “eh” photo to a “wall-worthy” photo.

Do I take great photos? Yes, but there is so much more that can be done to the photo, no matter how good I was at composing the photo, no matter how I do my settings in the camera – they all need editing. Continue reading “Editing photos vs the original shot”
